Republic Day wishes 2021

January 26, 2021 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

Greetings to everyone on the auspicious occasion of 72nd Republic Day of India. As we know that constitution of India came into effect on 26th January, 1950. It’s important we play our bit to ensure our constitution is well respected and rightly implemented.

We should ensure our next generation takes us an inspiration. What we need to remember is that children do not do what we ask them to do; but they definitely do what they see us doing.

If we want our children to be truthful, we should first set ourselves as an example; for example, sometimes we tell them we buy a chocolate if they finish their homework; soon they finish their homework, we should take them and buy a chocolate even if it was given just a day before. That will inject in their mind that we do what we say.

Happy republic day!

Some ideas for artists to accept new normal

August 18, 2020 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

Due to unprecedented situation of Carona Virus (COVID-19), while people in some sector are able to work remotely, there is halt for a lot of activities including cultarul activities. There are many people who rely solely on a specific art for their livelihood such as performing music concert, Harikatha, dance etc., Unfortunately, this situation will continue for a few more months, if not years hopefully.

There are a few ways that such artists can leverage using technologies and make their livelihood. Let’s discuss some ideas and hopefully help someone.

A few months ago, I have noticed series of cultural events hosted live by The Capital Area Telugu Association (US) to celebrate their 15th anniversary. They are hosting events on Saturday and Sunday that are live both on YouTube and Facebook. They have a mechanism where community can donate through their website.

Further, From beginning of July, Shri. Adhibatla Shri. Kalapeetam is hosting series of cultural events through live on its Founder Smt. Padala Kalyani’s Facebook feed. During July and August, nummber of events were hosted on Saturday and Sundays. In addition, music concerts were hosted on occasions of son of my brother’s birthday and our Son’s birthday. These events are streamed live to Facebook using Zoom. Each program, a honorarium is paid artists. Although amount paid is not a big amount and cannot match the worthy of their talent, that gives a token of appreciation and give artists an idea of how they can continue pursuing their passion.

Another idea that I have in mind is that local cable operators should stream performances of artists around them and people in that community/village/town/city can contribute and sponsor the events. This way, artists get work and income; cable operators get a good will. They can just stream for 60 minutes a day.

Now-a-days, internet is not very expensive so artists should make arrangements for broadband connections and a computer / laptop. This should be investment that they need to make. Though we hope that COVID situation will go away soon but it will still take sometime for organizations to host public performances.

We should leverage available resources and move on…

#TTDProperty – no bloody fellow has right to sell!

May 23, 2020 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

I never prefer to use abusive words but incidents that are taking place in Andhra Pradesh. There is news about sale of TTD Property to raise money. These properties are not allotted by any government but have donated by devotees to expand better facilities so that more devotees could visit Tirumala. Hence no government or anyone has any bloody right to sell them.

Those thought of selling have to consider selling their own properties and donate to TTD if they really concerned about financial situation.

Government of Andhra Pradesh needs to understand that they should not test patience of people. You were elected with a lot of hope for improving the state but all your actions are disgusting. What is the need to demolist three lights junction at Vizianagaram? When we notice your assembly speeches, we only hear all things against to other parties but never see what are the good things you can take up.

Stop doing things that annoy people. Else, you will be taken to task.

Does god exist? – a practical answer by a Hindu Priest

May 3, 2020 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

This is a short messaging extracted from speech of Dr. Shri. Garikipati Narasimha Rao.

Once upon a time, a Hindu Pundit goes for a haircut. While working, the barber has asked “Sir, does the God exist?” The Pundit responds “Why not? by the way, I’m a brahmin pundit and spend a lot of time serving the God; why are you asking me such a question?”. The barber says “No sir, if God exist, he should be taking care of all of us and solve our problems; since that is not happening, I don’t think God exist”. The Pundit did not want to argue at that moment. He has invited him to join him for an evening walk.

In the evening, while they are waling on streets, there are many people with so much of hair and beard. Then Pundit turns to Barber and asks “My friend, see there are so many people with huge hair and long beard; you are a barber in this village but looks like you are not worrying anything about them”. Barber replies “Sir, why would I worry, I will cut their hair and trim their beard when they come to my shop and pay me money”. Then Pundit smiles and say “There you go, my friend, being a barber for just a small village, you will not take care of people until they come to you and pay you money; then how would you expect the God to take care of people in this entire universe without they approach him? God certainly exist and take care of people who approach him.”

So God exist and take care of us all only if we approach him and do our responsibilities in right way.

Stay home and Stay safe.

Not happy in your current job; should you move on?

April 17, 2020 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

Today, we often observe that people switch jobs for almost no reason; one of the most common reason is that the other company is offering some extra money. People especially youth of today should know that they should not switch jobs for pity reasons; there must be a strong reason for switching job.

If you are switching job for a pay hike, please be informed that you get even better hike when you are loyal to your employer and show productivity; it may take a while but your effort and honesty will not go waste. There is no guarantee that you get constant hikes at your new employment.

If you are switching job because of some discomfort or you have problems with some people; you may have different problems in new job; there is no place in this world that matches to our needs.

Today, I was watching a video of Dr. Shri. Garikipati Narasimha Rao garu and he illustrated one story from purnams. Several years ago, an animal in the forest thought it has fed up with all sounds, fear of other people and humans; thought if God takes him to the world of Moon; Lord Shiva is perhaps easiest and first god to grant wishes. So Lord Shiva appeared and moved animal from earth to moon. That animal started enjoying on the moon. Very soon it came eclipse time and animal felt someone is trying to eat it along with moon and there is no way to escape. The animal realises that earth is better place; at least there is play to escape from danger.

This shows that every place will have some problem or the other, we can succeed only with our attitude and way we work.

As I said in my earlier posts, only in three situations, one should change the job:

  1. When there are lay-offs at company, there is not option for an employee but to look for another job.
  2. It’s important that we make a careful decision before accepting an employment opportunity. We need to ask is this a job that fit to my elibility, will this job gives me satisfaction?, will I be able to do justice to this job? etc., Even after this thorough decision has made and we have put in efforts to good extent but failed to succeed in the job, it’s OK to look for other opportunities.
  3. If an opportunity knocks your door with ten times than what we get currently; we should accept the opportunity; No one will offer a huge difference without seeing something within us.

We will not immediately realise the real problem of switching jobs often. But it becomes a huge problem when we look for leadership positions in the future; when we apply for any leadership position, chances of rejection are higher because everyone think about our stability.

To conclude, secure the job, work with commitment and we will achieve success.

Stay safe!

My experience in trading

September 22, 2019 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

For many years, I was under the impression that stock market is a highly risk area to invest money and have chosen to stay away for a long time. Yes, it’s true that investing in stock market is a risky thing if not done in a right way. For a couple of months now, I have been investing in stocks and it’s a great experience.

My inspiration

Hema’s uncle Shri. Tadimeti Sathya Murthy, a retired bank officer and I get into conversations about how carefully money should be used and how we can save. Quite often, he used to bring stock markets into conversation and he has been trading for about three decades. That triggered me to think when there was no technology and he was trading and why not I? So I decided to venture into invest smaller amounts into trading and see how it works.

My learnings

  • If your goal is for short-term, then you need to monitor market closely
  • It’s OK to bid even less than 3% of value while buying; most often transaction will go through by closure of market.
  • It’s OK to bid 2% more while selling and this would even go through; well, there is no guarantee
  • As a beginner, I just rotate a sum of some amount and beyond a limit, I will not pump in money to investment
  • I sell my holdings when they raise at least 10%
  • Ihave noticed markets going high on Monday and Tuesday and going down on Thursday evenings and Friday morning
  • I use a strategy of buying shares while market is down and sell while market is on higher side. (nothing new here)
  • I usually buy shares that are of government such as HUDCO or brands like TCS, Infosys etc.,
  • I place orders before market opens, then monitor market twice within the day and then finally check my orders at the market closure.

In summary, it’s a good place to earn profit if business is done with care. So far I’m enjoying and made a decent profit in two months!

Still Congratulations, Indian Cricket Team!

July 11, 2019 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

Yes, India lost in semi finals against New Zealand during Cricket World Cup, 2019; but still I congratulate each and every player of the team.

Is 238 for a opening team consider a great score? that too for a semi final? certainly not… so that witnesses our team has done a great job in fielding.

Yes, we lost 3 wickets for 5 runs, I blame climate conditions for that and not our team. Very same players including KL Rahul have made century plus in the last game. Even though, we lost 3 wickets for 5 runs, M S Dhoni and R Jadeja have a done a tremendous job. Entire team have tried their best to win the match and we have only lost with 18 runs. So we have still created a history.

If it was not rained badly, I’m sure, India would have made to finals and yes, I was not sure if cup comes to India or goes to England; because England is equally a strong team.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed all the matches during Cricket World Cup 2019. My best wishes and love to entire Indian Cricket Team and specially Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul (for KL Rahul, initial games were bad). Lots of applause to Rohit Sharma for his 6 centuries during this series.

Wishing England, Australia and New Zealand all the best. Dear Indian Cricket Team, I’m still proud of you all.

Best wishes,

A few thoughts on Election Results of 2019

May 23, 2019 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

It’s good to see Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in a good shape to grab required seats to form the government yet agin. There was certainly good progress to the nation during NDA (National Democratic Alliance)’s government for last years. India played a critical role to have Yoga recognised by the United Nations; there were good initiative to make country clean, accessible, improve quality of government services, a firm decisions on terrorism and many more. Everything cannot be done within five years. I’m hopeful we move towards a greater progress in next five years. As someone mentioned in their Facebook post, now opposition and other parties should stop thinking about how to prevent Modi or BJP, instead, work with government in constructive manner and win hearts of people.

I’m super thrilled that BJP is also leading at many places of Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka. I would hope this leads to a development of the state and hopefully this party will come into power in Karnataka state assembly too. One full sprint of five years, they need to spend on eliminating corruption. I don’t mind of they don’t focus on anything else. Eliminating corruption itself will lead to development.

Coming to results of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, while I congratulate YSRCP for their win in the state, I urge Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy should use this opportunity and work towards development. I had an opportunity to meet his father Shri. Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy; he has made some great work to development to then Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, Shri. Chandra Babu Naidu and his party have contributed a lot of efforts to empowerment of both then Andhra Pradesh and even after bifurcation. Mr. Naidu has played a key role to get IT businesses both in Telangana and now in Andhra Pradesh. What is disappointing is that Telugu Desam Party has just able to win only about 25 seats. They certainly deserve more than that.

Anyway, I hope a great progress will take place in next five year and we don’t have to get into a situation where we need to invest on elections again very soon.

Congratulations to all the winners; if you are in ruling party, utilise your power and create best policies; if you are in opposition, don’t invest energy in breaking chairs and micsets in assembly but work collectively and force government to make development. Good luck!

Election results 2019 – morning update: Loksabha & Andhra Pradesh

May 23, 2019 • Srinivasu Chakravarthula

Today is the day that many of us are awaiting for. Verdict is given. As of writing of this post, YSRCP (YS Rajsekhar Reddy Congress Party) is leading in Andhra Pradesh with leading at 32 constituencies followed by Telugu Desam Party with leading at 6 places. It’s too early to decide who would win the majority. We may get clarity by noon or little later.

At Loksabha, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is leading at 200 places followed by Indian National Congress (INC) at 60 places. For Loksabha, chances are higher for NDA to come in power.

Whoever comes into power, it is important to focus on development of nation and utilise parliament / assembly time effectively rather than fighting abot what other party has not done. Every party needs to focus on what they would do rather than investing time on finding faults of other party.

Will write a next update at 2:00pm.
