Few ways that we can contribute to make our community a better place to live

If we think we have lot of problems around us in the community, let’s take a step back and think if we are responsible for it and can we make a difference? Here are a few ways that we can contribute to make our community a better place to live. These sound simple things but some of us ignore. For people who chew tobacco, I urge them stop that…

Inclusive Walk-a-than 2018

Today I have participated in 5K Inclusive Walk-a-than in Bangalore. It has been an incredible experience. Very well organized. It’s great to see a huge number of participants before 6am on a Sunday morning. Event started with warm-up exercises and they were interpreted in sign-language, buddies are requested to assist people with vision impairment. Then buddies were explained a few tips as to how they can assist people with disabilities. Sighted participants were given an option if they would like to walk with a blind fold. Many participants have opted to experience this. On my way, I have met a…

Experience with AirAsia

Recently we travelled from Hyderabad to Bangalore with AirAsia and has mixed sense of experience. Check-in was smooth; when we have asked if flight is on schedule, then personnel has mentioned that flight is delayed by 20 minutes. We were given an escort to the gate. There was no announcement even after said 20 minutes; when we approached the counter, we were told that flight is delayed by another 40 minutes. There was no text or call to customers about the delay. When we have questioned, there was no appropriate response. One person said he would bring in his manager…

APSRTC managers are super responsive…

Recently we were travelling from Tanuku to Bengaluru by APSRTC bus and a pipe in the baggage space got broken. Bus was taken to Vijayawada bus depot and got the issue fixed. However, driver was instructed by one of the APSRTC personnel not to proceed further and return to origin which is Vizag. So we were transferred to another bus where seats in the last row were allocated. When we have questioned for water bottles and blankets, response was rude. We called up the customer care of APSRTC, who pretended as a complaint was registered but suggested us to speak…

A child doesn’t know about hatred…

I was recently listening to an interview of His Holiness Shri. Dnyanraj Manik Prabhu, present Peethathipati of Shri. Manik Prabhu Samsthan which he has in conversation with a television channel in Sri Lanka. One example has touched me a lot where he spoke about how hatred is being spread. He has an example of a child. Yes, child doesn’t know hatred. Child loves everyone and everything. It’s we who teach them hatred. That’s absolutely true. It’s often we see that children are told about some one is not good, some place is not good or something doesn’t taste well. We…

Open letter to Ministry of Railways, Government of India

Dear Minister and concerned personnel of Ministry of Railways, Government of India. As you are aware, India has diverse set of users and not all of them are familiar with Interactive Voice Recording (IVR) system and we do…

End of era: Yahoo! Messenger is shutting down in July

It was in the year 1999 when I got introduced to the world of Internet and my first email address was created on Yahoo! Mail which also got me access to the use of Yahoo! Messenger. It was the first instant messaging application in the world. Yahoo! Messenger was one of the much needed software in my computer. Though it was introduced to Yahoo! Mail, it was still fun using as a stand alone application. Yahoo! messenger was first to have chat rooms which I have used a lot and made a lot of new friends. Yahoo! Messenger was one…

Movie Review: Rangasthalam (Telugu movie)

Though team has made an attempt to make Rangasthalam an inspiring movie, it does not have enough story. The story is focused a person who is trying to get relief to villagers from a political leader who has been cheating public for about three decades. Here is a quick story. The story then shifts to a village, Rangasthalam. Chitti Babu is shown to be a partially deaf, light-hearted and jolly villager. He earns a living by watering irrigational lands of the farmers of Rangasthalam, using a motor which belongs to another villager and his best friend, Rangamma (Anasuya Bharadwaj), who…
